I highly recommend it and you just go there and say I need a refrigerator appliance help ASAP and you’ll get a ton of responses that’s what happens on the app here in Chicago. Everybody knows somebody you can find someone to fix it before July 1!

We keep our hot sauces on our Lazy Susan in the kitchen and no one‘s ever gotten sick from it so😵‍💫🤷🏼‍♀️

You can freeze cheese! Also you can buy a huge yeti cooler. Those are great for emergencies!

The ketchup was fine, unless it’s the truffle ketchup, I never refrigerate ketchup at all. A few of the other items were probably okay, too. Anyway, I feel your pain 😭. My refrigerator and freezer died a year ago and I lost at least a thousand dollars of food.

I would put the pine nuts in the freezer because they can get rancid.

I had a subzero for 25 years. Never had one problem with it. I was told don’t ever use ice cube makers in refrigerators. They just cause problems. I actually learned it on RUclips. There’s a guy who has a popular channel and he fixes appliances. He tells you what’s good we just got a new sub after 25 years because we knew it was gonna go any day now it’s worth spending the money for a subzero. You won’t ever have a problem.

Your refrigerator can maintain cool for several days closed. It may not be as bad as you think. Does the item feel warm to the touch? Put a thermometer in it. Take several photos of the full refrigerator, first, for Homeowners insurance coverage. Itemize a detailed priced list of ALL loses for your Homeowners insurance policy replacement cost (minus your deductible, $100). Take photos of EVERYTHING for insurance follow through, replacement cash, minus deductible. Get some cheap styrofoam coolers, fill with the goods, cover with ice, close. Keep closed, replace ice, until new refrigerator is there. Or, ask to use a few friends or neighbors refrigerators in the meantime. A favorite restaurant may store for you for a day or two. Move your new refrigerator away from the wall to preserve the condenser. Vacuum the refrigerator back motor vent, especially with dogs and cats fur or hair. Vacuum this refrigerator vent monthly. Unopened? Anything pickled is preserved. Hard cheese o.k. a bit longer than soft cheeses. Vegies should be fine for quite a while, days, longer. Meats, toss, photo first.

The fact all those cheeses were moldy meant everything else had to go, hard cheeses would still be good, you could even toss into the freezer. You should keep thermometer in fridge and freezer to monitor temps. Expensive to replace all those items!😢

Condiments other than mayo or things with eggs, can be salvaged.

Maple syrup doesn’t have to be refrigerated, but it will keep it from growing mold if you do.

How long was the fridge broken? Did you check temps before you threw stuff away. You can keep things about 4 hours before they reach the danger zone

Omggg you condiments are fine!!!!! You do not need to throw most of this stuff away! It will Survive a few days or just throw it in a cooler! It I have left mustard out for weeeks and it’s fine

If you buy dry ice (couple blocks per day depending on how often you open the fridge) you could have kept all the food.

Mustard has vinegar in it and is a preservative. You probably could've kept the mustard without it going bad. Dressinga go bad, most sauces except with dairy, will last. I've been there. It happened to me a few weeks back. I kept a lot of sauces, pickles, mayo, should be good. Don't throw them out. Just meats, leftovers, dairy go out. Why throw out olives?? So much preservatives in that hat. They would be fine.

Mustard doesn’t have to go! It says refrigerate cause it will likely turn brown and not last. I am watching you throw away a lot of things that are ok.
